Sutton Homes Memory Care is pleased to announce a new addition to our care team. Join us in welcoming our new Activity Director John Collins, C.T.R.S.. John comes to us with over 25 years experience in Therapeutic Recreation. As a graduate of the University of Florida and a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, John has a wealth of knowledge and experience in providing services to anyone with memory loss. For the past 15 years, John has been a healthcare educator around the state providing training to other activity professionals.

He became involved in memory care when his own grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He was close to her and wanted to find ways to enrich her life at the nursing home where she resided. John brings that compassion, experience, and creativity to our residents and is looking forward to enhancing their quality of life. Welcome!

Many people with memory problems do not want to leave their homes but care and keeping these individuals safe can become very difficult. Sutton Homes owns 7 homes in upscale neighborhoods where we care for 5 residents in each secure home. Our flat rate fee includes all the care, laundry, meals and snacks, and activities. Sutton Homes Memory Care Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) Joining Walk to End Alzheimer’s at Lake Eola October 27

Sutton Homes Memory Care ALF is participating in the 2012 Walk to End Alzheimer’s™  at Lake Eola, in downtown Orlando on Saturday October 27th. We have a team made up of staff, family and residents. The walk is sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association and is biggest annual fundraiser. Registration and photos are at 9am. The walk is 2 miles and dogs are welcome! Come out an join us! Be sure to check back for photos of the event.
