Sutton Homes Understands Exactly What You Are Going Through
Perhaps a loved one has started exhibiting symptoms of memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease. Feeling scared and confused is normal. Gail and Jim Baxter, the owners of Sutton Homes in Central Florida, endured a similar process while dealing with Gail’s mother. In her own words, Gail recalls the “panic, horror and complete despair” that she felt when her own mother showed the first signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
They decided to take it upon themselves to open the first Sutton Home in Maitland in 1994.
During Gail's search to find a suitable assisted living facility for her mother,
she and her husband “slowly agonized over each new loss” and tried to give her mother the best care that they could manage. Finally, Gail and Jim came across the Sutton Homes concept. Gail recalls how the assisted living facilities at the Sutton Homes were “worlds better” than anything she had previously experienced. Five more homes were added as the need grew in the Central Florida area.
Our Goals
Ultimately, our goal is to provide our residents with a comfortable home, a calm setting and a caring hand that encourages and assists your loved one in maintaining his or her life skills as long as possible. Safety and sensitivity are priorities of our staff of caregivers. Nurse Practitioner services are also available.
